A Chair Fit For A Queen.

Remember the VANITY and the CORKBOARD that I made for my daughter's room???  Well, if you don't hop on over and check them out ;)  I have been looking for a chair to go with the vanity.  I had in mind what I wanted and was patiently waiting to find it.

Last week I made a trip to the Thrift Store and found this beauty!  Isn't she LOVELY?  Well, maybe not so much right now, but she was only $6 and sturdy as a rock.  I could see her potential and it made me happy giddy.

I took her home and tore her apart.  Sanded her down and started her transformation.  I found the material at a fabric store that specializes in upholstery fabric.  Are you ready for this?  It was on sale for $5 a yard.  Oh yes, it was.  I was giddy deliriously happy!  It matches her room perfectly.

I LOVE how she turned out.  She looks wonderful with the VANITY and the CORKBOARD.  So glad I stopped into the Thrift Store that day.  Now my daughter has a vanity chair fit for a queen :)

I am LINKING UP HERE.  Pop over and check them out.

Cork Board Redo :)

Pull the frame off of the cork board and staple material over the cork. Make sure and pull it tightly so that you don't get any wrinkles in it when you put the frame back on.
Spray paint your frame. If you are lucky, your son will even convince you that his handle bars need a fresh coat of paint "while you are at it". :)
Cut a strip of material and roll it up so that you have a long tube of material. Then glue a piece of rick rack onto the material. Roll it into a "bud".
Finished flowers. Some with rick rack, some without. Place a button in the center of the flowers (if desired).
Finished product. It will look great in my daughter's room. It goes great with the vanity I refinished for her room last week. Wanna see the vanity? CLICK HERE.
Here it is hanging above her bed. I can't wait to see it with some super cute stick pins (hmmm, wonder what I can come up with?) and all of the pictures of her and her friends hanging on it! Fun!

The photo really doesn't do it justice! It is just so cute in person. I was going to throw it away when we moved because it had a piece of the cork torn off of it. I am so glad I didn't!

Vanity Project

BEFORE:

AFTER:

FINALLY a new project!!! I was in D.I. (the equivalent of a thrift store) and found a vanity for $30. It is solid wood and had dove-tail drawers. It wasn't warped and all the drawers worked. The only thing it needed was a little sprucing up! So, that is what I did. I spruced away.

It will look great in my daughter's room. I still need to find the oh, so perfect chair to go with it and a fancy dancy mirror to hang above it, but I am so excited that I found a vanity for such a great deal!

When I do find the chair and the mirror. . .I will be sure to share! :)

Sneak Peek :)

Here is what I have been up to lately:

BEFORE: After:

Another After:

Remember how I said I was going to redo my dining room chairs in a matching, yet un-matching kind of a way??? Well, now you have a sneak peek at what I am talking about :)

My father-in-law looked at me like I was pretty darn strange when my husband said that I was using different material on each chair ON PURPOSE! Heh, heh, it was pretty funny!

I have four chairs done and four to go. It takes A LOT longer to get them how I want them (that is the problem with being a perfectionist!). I will be glad when they are all done. Can't wait to do my makeover on the table next!

I will share more when this entire project is complete.
