Taking a Break. . .


 Dear Friends,

I am sure you have noticed that I am not posting as much as I used to.  I have missed some of my parties, and I haven't made anything in AGES to share with you.  Let me explain why.  I have been in college pursuing my ELED degree and this year is my first year teaching.  I am super excited to finally be to a point where I can begin my career.  That said, my career and my family need to be my focus right now.  So, I am taking a break from Paisley Passions.

Don't worry.  I am not gone forever, just until I feel like I can find some kind of balance in my life.  I knew that being a first year teacher would be time consuming. . .I just had NO IDEA how much of my life it would consume!!!  It seems as though every waking minute is spent trying to figure out lesson plans and making preparations in order to have the best year possible.  So, when you drop your kids off at school this year, make sure and give the teacher a BIG thanks for all of their hard work :)

Taking a break from my blog was not an easy decision.  It is something that I have wrestled with for a while now.  But, I finally came to the conclusion that taking a break is the right decision.

I hope you all understand and will all be ready to come back and follow me again once I get back to posting.

    Totally understandable! I have taught for 5 years...and though it's the best job ever, it is very time consuming...esp your first year. Good luck to you! Have a great school year!! Congrats on your new adventure...have fun with it :) Your students will be lucky to have such a passionate and creative teacher.

    Good Luck Lori,
    I've been teaching for almost 30 years now and I wouldn't trade a minute of it! (ok maybe a few)
    As September approaches and I have a new room assignment and new responsibilities at work I too may be taking a break. Good luck with all you do, the kids will love you and it is the best career ever!

    The first year really is the hardest. I taught junior high for 7 years and lOVED every minute of it.

    It is time consuming and hard work but it is so awesome. I'm currently "taking a break" from teaching to stay home with my family and blog :) But I miss school, especially at this time of year.

    Oh....this WILL be an exhausting but thrilling year for you....I've been teaching for more years than you have been alive...some of my first students are now teachers! The most important thing is to build a support system...I would be glad to listen and advise from the "veteran" point of view. Enjoy the moments...and LOVE every ONE of your students!

    Teaching is the most rewarding experience. I have taught for many years as well as being a principal. If you need someone to listen to your ideas or if you have questions, I will certainly try to help.

    congratulations! sometimes it feels like i was going backwards instead of forward in my career as I just left the corporate world. I will probably be back in the future though just like you did.

    I know...I've been there. Took so much time I rarely got enough sleep each night...which is probably why I didn't make it through the first year. Hope you do! May God bless you and all teachers! I've heard if you can last it does get better.
