Halloween Candy Chest

It's a new week!!!  I am so happy to have another week of school behind me!  In case you didn't know, I am in school full time.  Sometimes I don't know what I was thinking going back to school at my age.  It gets a little bit CrAzY that is for sure!  Being a busy mother to five kids, being in school full time, and fostering my creative addiction, can be a lot to juggle at times.  I am sure that once I am finished with school (I graduate with my Bachelors Degree in December 2011) I will be so glad I lived through the craziness and finished!

So, this weeks creation is a SUPER fun one.  Well, at least I think it is!  I took a plain unfinished wooden box like they carry at craft stores (Michaels, JoAnns, Hobby Lobby, etc) and spruced it up to become a super cool box to hold my candy for the trick-or-treaters.

Sorry that I don't have a before picture.  I was so excited to make the box that I forgot to take a before pic! ;)  If I end up back at the craft store before the end of the week, I will snap a quick picture of one of the plain boxes on the shelf and add it to my post :)

I added paint, scrapbook paper, and then some fun Halloween Decor (signs, ghosts, spider, cobwebs) to make my SPOOKY Halloween Treasure Chest.

To get the spider to stay on the top, I simply drilled some small holes and slide his legs into them.  I added a drop of E6000 to each hole to make sure he would stay put.  My kiddos LOVE this box!

Thanks for stopping by this week!  Don't forget to come back and check out Thrilling Thursday each Thursday.  It is a linky party that I host where YOU get to link up YOUR creations!

I am joining THESE LINKY PARTIES and THESE BLOG HOPS this week.  Stop by and check them out!
