Flash Back Friday~Lap Tray

This was a fun little project.  I took an ordinary frame that I got on clearance for a couple of dollars (sorry I don't have a before picture of the frame!).  It was deeper than a normal frame, not quite as deep as a shadow box, but deep enough that I was able to add some material and some buttons underneath the glass.

Then I took two extra large unfinished wood letters.  I used W's, but I think you could get M's to work depending on the font of the wooden letter.
I covered the letter with scrapbook paper using Mod Podge.  LOVE the stuff! :)  Then I inked the edges of the letter and applied a couple of coats of mod podge on top of the letters and paper.

I attached the letters to the bottom of the frame using E6000 and then I screwed small screws from the inside back of the frame down into the tops of the wooden letters.

I took a dowel and attached it with screws along the backside of the W's and then covered the screws with buttons.
I painted the dowels and the backside of the letters a cream color to match my frame.  Then I ended up with this handy dandy lap tray.  It works great for the kids to have a snack on or to draw on while watching tv or in bed or even in the car.  Or maybe even for hubby to bring you breakfast in bed?  Haha!  One can dream ;)

Flashback Friday ~Budding Artist

I was browsing through my photos and I realized that I have never added this project to my blog.  I don't know why.  Just an oversight I guess.  So, here is an old~new project for today.  Old because I made it last year, new because I have never shared it.

I used a tin pail and covered it with patterned paper using mod podge.  Then I added stickers that said "Budding Artist".  Inside I put a cute chipboard book and some art supplies.  It is ready to take on the road!  This would be fun for a long car trip, or just to have when the kids get bored this Summer.
HAPPY crEAtIng :)

Flashback Friday. Altered Canvas.

What is flashback Friday??? It is when I take one of my older projects that I *heart* and show it on my bloggity blog. Today is an altered canvas that I made for my brother and his wife. It is SOOOO easy to do.

I just used an artist canvas, scrapbook paper, rub-ons, ink, and a couple embellishments and mod podged them onto the canvas. I let it dry and then added the picture. Voila! Instant & EASY art!!!

Flashback Friday.

This was one of my favorites. I just loved how it turned out. I think that the wood flower on the top and the clip on the side were my favorite parts!

If you feel inclined to watch the clip (it isn't that great, haha!) Then CLICK HERE.

Happy Friday! :)

Guitar Hero Rack

I am going through my old craft blog and pulling some of my favorites off of it to share. I thought that this Guitar Hero Rack was quite clever and I just wanted to share it again (in case you haven't seen it!). It was my very first tv spot. It was so surreal! It almost feels like it never happened!

Enjoy!
