Oh, SO GLORIOUS AFTER:
I added four cute "feet"
I added a handle.

Okay, so the front roll-top part is scrapbook paper. I wish that I could say that it was 100% my idea *SIGH*, but alas, it wasn't this time around. I found another bread box that a lady had done using the same paper and my mouth was drooling and I KNEW I had to make one myself.

I wish that I could find the site where I found the first bread box so that I could link back and give her a shout out for her WONDERFUL idea!!! For the life of me I can't find where I saw it. So, whoever you are, you had an OH SO LOVELY idea to use patterned paper on the roll-top part of the bread box.
I will say that adding the feet and handle were my addition to the transformation.
Cost of this project???
$5.00 for the bread box (from D.I.)
$1.50 for 2 sheets of patterned paper
The paint and mod podge I already had. So for about $6.50 total, I got a GORGEOUS bread box to put in my kitchen. LOVE. IT.
PS-UPDATE! I found the original bread box that inspired me to do mine! YAY! I can give credit where credit is due for the paper strip idea on the roll top! CLICK HERE to check it out :)

Love the finished product!
I was gonna ask how you did the roll-top! Did you use a whole 12x12 piece or did you have to splice it together? I would LOVE how to do this type of stuff. I guess I should just buy some mod podge and start practicing. Lol. Great job, beautiful breadbox!
